Invitation to 2019 YHSA Ceremony

 Dear 2019 US East Coast YHSA Participants:

I would like to thank all of you for your participation in the 2019 US East Coast YHSA! 

I also would like to inform everyone of a few important issues and events. 

As you know, our panel of experts in all six subjects of the YHSA competitions are completing their reviews of your submissions. Authors of the best papers shall soon hear from us, and receive an invitation to come to the Center for Mathematical Sciences and Applications (CMSA) at Harvard University in Cambridge MA, to enter the Semi-final round of the competition. This will be an Oral Exam in which you have an opportunity to present (in English) your papers in front of a panel of expert judges. You will be given 15 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes Q&A. Your presentation will be videotaped and the video+audio subsequently accessible to the public. First, by MA law, your parents (or yourself if in you are 18 or older) must sign a consent form below in front of a notary public, and present to us the original signed copy, before your exam can be videotaped and published by us. Therefore, it is very important that you have the consent form signed and ready before your arrival for your presentation. Second, when you arrive on the day of your oral presentation, you must bring your passport with you for identification along, with the signed consent form. 

We are very pleased to inform you of an exciting YHSA event line-up on November 3, 2019. At 4pm, Ms. Amanda Washington of the Harvard University Admission Office will meet with you at the Harvard Science Center, Hall A. She would be happy to discuss Harvard admission issues, and college admission in the US in general, and also answer questions. The YHSA, US East Coast Division, award ceremony will then commence at 5pm at the same venue. Award winners for the YHSA Semi-final Oral Round in this division will be announced on this occasion. 

We are also cordially inviting you to a complimentary banquet at the Royal East Restaurant in Cambridge at 7pm, shortly after the award ceremony. We ask that you RSVP us at yauhsa2019@gmail.com at least 5 days in advance, if you plan to attend the banquet. If your relatives would like to join us at the banquet, please tell us in your RSVP and please pay $50 per person (cash only) at the time of your arrival.
